What is coir?
The coir also named as the coconut fiber or coco fiber is a natural fiber extracted from the outer husk of coconut. The coir is the fibrous material found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut. There are mainly two types of the coir, one is the brown coir and the other is white coir. The brown coir is derived from the mature coconut while the other is from the unripe coconut. And the main differences between these two types of the coir is the rigidity and the flexibility, the brown coir will have higher rigidity but lower flexibility than the white coir.
The application of the coir
According to the former paragraph we know that there are two types of the coir, and they can be used into different usage depend on their features. Generally speaking, there are four main applications of the coir:
1. The coir can be made into ropes and mats and this is the most conventional usage of the coir. These coir-made mats and ropes will finally used in packaging.
2. The coir is good at handling the temperature, so it will be good in some industries or business that needs the temperature controlling.
3. The coir can be used in bedding products like mattresses, which will provide us a natural feeling.
4. Coir can also be used to make floor mats and doormats, brushes and other daily used products or the ornaments.
The coir baling machines
You may wonder what is the coir baling machine and why need a coir baling machine. And there is no doubt that all the fibers have one thing in common that is loose. This feature makes all the fibers hard to transfer and stock the same as the coir, so here comes the coir baling machines. A coir baling machines can compress the coir into tightly tied dense bales and all the bales are the same size and weight. And don’t worry about the high rigidity and flexibility the coir has, the coir baling machines are good at managing the high fibrous and hardness fibers.
